COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- Colorado Christian opened the Track & Field season in Colorado Springs over the weekend, taking part in the Holiday Invitational.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Winnie Spurlock competed in the Pentathlon for the Cougars, placing 11th with a total score of 2,564. Jordyn Gutridge made the finals in the 800m meter run, placing fifth with a time of 2:45.86. Tara Smoker placed 9th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.70 seconds. Elizabeth Gueck also took part in the 200 meter, posting a time of 28.81 seconds. Adriana McEwen competed in the high jump, finishing in a three-way tie for 8th with a jump of 1.56 meters.
MEN'S RECAP
Jacob Marker claimed third place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05.30, followed by David Jaquez in fifth with a time of 2:14.28. A number of Cougars competed in the 1 mile run, led by Hudson Majeski who placed second with a time of 4:30.64. Brendan Oury followed in fifth posting a mark of 4:38.81. Tanner James and Jason Caven took 7th and 8th with times of 4:46.13 and 4:53.25 respectively. Oliver Wyatt posted a time of 5:08.56 for 11th place.
The best performance of the day for Colorado Christian came in the 3000 meter run. Isaac Russo won the event with a time of 8:42.59 while Jeremy Miller placed third with a mark of 9:14.83.
UP NEXT- The Cougars will compete again January 14-15 at the Potts Invitational in Boulder.
