Orediggers Pull Even in Four-Game Set

LAKEWOOD, CO – Looking to build on Thursday's win, the Colorado Christian baseball team is back to even after two games against Colorado School of Mines.

The Orediggers jumped out to the lead and never let Colorado Christian back within striking distance in a 13-1 contest on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Oredigger put a three-spot on the scoreboard in the first inning when Danny McDermott hit a three-run, two-out homerun over the rightfield fence. Colorado School of Mines added to their lead when I-ly Hsue recorded an RBI groundout in the second inning to up their lead to 4-0.

Colorado School of Mines added to their lead in the third inning when Gabe Garvens, Brady Veltien and Jason Hall each produced RBI base knocks as they chased Colorado Christian starter Kyler Riordan. The visitors seven-run cushion turned into a 9-0 lead as a Hsue double and Luke Folsom single scored a pair of runs.

Wyatt Crenshaw ended the shutout attempt by Oredigger starter Ben Schoneman with his third homerun of the season as his solo shot was blasted over the rightfield wall.

Two more runs came off the bat of Veltien as he two-run double in the eighth frame scored McDermott and Nick Kuzma. Folsom added two more runs with a double deep into right centerfield in the ninth stanza.
