PUEBLO, CO – Hoping to start their road conference slate on a positive note, the Colorado Christian volleyball team hit a bump on that road.
CSU Pueblo was effective from the get-go as they recorded a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17s, 25-21) win on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Thunderwolves distributed their offense well as seven players notched at least three kills in the contest while they hit .311 as team. CSU Pueblo made just nine hitting errors in the contest.
CSU Pueblo never trailed in the opening set as they registered a .389 hitting mark to grab the match's momentum. In the second frame the Cougars stayed within two or three points of the home team until the Thunderwolves went on a late scoring spurt. CSU Pueblo made a 15-13 lead into 21-13 in helping them take a two set lead.
Colorado Christian attempted a comeback in the third set. In that frame they were trailing 18-13 but were able to bring that five-point deficit down to 23-21. However, the Thunderwolves closed out the match with a back-to-back kills.
