Colorado Christian Fall in Back and Forth Affair with Roadrunners

LAKEWOOD, CO- The Cougars played their home opener after a 3-1 start to the season on the road, taking on MSU Denver in a non-conference matchup with their RMAC foe. After a back and forth three quarters, the Roadrunners took control in the fourth quarter en route to a 67-61 victory. 

The Cougars were led by Makenna Bodette offensively with 15 points followed by Nicole Bowlin with 10 points and six rebounds. Maggie Hutka pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the effort on the boards, while Agnes Paul chipped in seven rebounds. Hutka dished out five assists while Paul notched three. 

The game was tight throughout with 11 ties throughout the game. Points in the paint were relatively even, with a slight edge to CCU with a 34-30 advantage. Colorado Christian chipped in 17 bench points to the Roadrunners 14. Second chance points went the Cougars way as well with a 7-4 lead in that category, and they picked up 12 points off turnovers. 

It was a tight matchup as the score stood tied at halftime and after the third quarter, but MSUD pulled away in the final quarter to secure the 67-61.

The Cougars will return home on November 26 for a matchup against South Central Region opponent Texas Permian-Basin at 2 p.m. in the CCU Event Center.
