Colorado Christian is preparing for another pair of RMAC games this week as they are looking to bounce back from last weekend and pick up a couple more victories. First, they will be taking on Chadron State at home at the CCU Event Center in a mid-week tilt on Wednesday December 7th. Then they will hit the road for a matchup on Saturday December 10th with Western Colorado. Both games will be key in early season positioning within the RMAC standings.

Chadron State Breakdown:     Chadron is coming into the game with a 5-3 record overall, but that may be a little deceiving as to the talent they have on their team. Their three losses are by a total of 12 points, and they have won their last five matchups including both games to open up the RMAC play 2-0. Historically, the Cougars have done well in their matchups previously with the Eagles going 22-13 all-time including a 14-5 mark when the games have been played at the CCU Event Center.

Chadron State is led on the year by junior Isaiah Wyatt who is averaging 17.1 points per game and is lethal from downtown as he currently has the second best three point field goal percentage in the RMAC at .508 (30 of 59). Another key player for the Eagles is Bryce Latimer who is averaging 13.8 points per game. Josh Robinson averages 10.6 points per game and leads his team with 8.5 rebounds per game.

Western Colorado Breakdown:     Western is entering the weekend with a 2-4 record overall, and they are 0-2 in conference play. This past weekend they dropped their conference opening games Adams State on Friday night and Fort Lewis on Saturday. Historically, it has been a very even matchup between the two schools as both CCU and Western have each won 12 games in the series. The Cougars have the last laugh as they were victorious in their last matchup last year as they defeated the Mountaineers by 76-67 final on February 1, 2022.

A talented sophomore Robel Desta leads the way for Western as he is currently averaging 15.7 PPG, and 8.3 RPG. In the last four games, Desta has compiled three 20 points games and two double-doubles. Another threat on the offensive side for the Mountaineers would be Avery Rembao. Rembao is averaging 11 points per game on the season.

Colorado Christian Breakdown:       The Cougars will be entering the matchups this week with a 4-4 record early this season. They dropped two hard fought games to open up RMAC play last weekend, but are looking to get back into the win column starting Wednesday night against Chadron.

Colorado Christian is led on the year by DJ McDonald. McDonald is a floor general when he is on the court and currently leads the team by averaging 12.1 PPG.

Jason Gallant is next up for the Cougars offensive weapons as he averages 10.4 PPG. Gallant also leads the team with 30 assists on the year. Noah Kon and Nic Zeil also play big parts in the Cougars offense as Kon is averaging 9.9 PPG and is tied for the team lead in steals with nine. Zeil averages 8.8 PPG but does so efficiently as he shoots well over 50% from the floor (23 of 42).
