LAKEWOOD,CO- Colorado Christian took on the top team in the RMAC and the number nine team in the country on Friday in Colorado School of Mines. The Cougars battled hard all game but eventually fell 75-62 to the Orediggers.

HOW IT HAPPENED- Agnes Paul got the scoring started for her team and Christen Curry and Lourdes Gonzalez quickly tacked on jumpers for the early 6-2 lead. Another basket from Paul had the Cougars offense rolling early. The Orediggers went on a run to close the quarter, taking a 20-12 lead into the second.

Gonzalez converted a quick three-point play to begin the quarter to get Colorado Christian back on track. A Sophia Karasinski jumper pulled the Cougars within 28-24 with 6:41 left in the half. Another mini-run from School of Mines put them back up eight at the break.

The lead stretched quickly to 14 for the Orediggers to begin the half, but the Cougars refused to give up. Grace Field began the comeback with a layup, and Jordyn Brown cut the lead to eight with a three-pointer. Gonzalez closed the gap to four with a jumper, but yet again the Orediggers found a way to take an eight point lead to the final frame.

The lead grew to 13 before a three-point play and a shot from beyond the arc from Brown cut it back to seven. Grace Field put the score at 65-60 with 4:36 remaining with a layup. The Orediggers continued to make their shots down the stretch to come away with the 75-62 victory.
