ALAMOSA,CO- The Cougars took on Adams State for the second straight day with another doubleheader. Colorado Christian took home a pair of wins, defeating the Grizzlies 10-2 and 6-2.
GAME ONE
Taylor Olsen got the scoring going with an RBI single in the first. Kenzie Middleton singled home another run in the second, and Sami Edwards drove home two more with a triple. Olsen capped the inning with a two-run blast to make it 6-0.
Miki Berg broke things wide open with a three-run homer in the third, and Edwards picked up an RBI groundout to grow the lead to 10-0. A pair of late runs were not enough for the Grizzlies as the Cougars took a 10-2 run-rule victory.
Alexis Hamilton pitched her way to win number 17 with six strikeouts on four hits allowed and no walks.
GAME TWO
The two teams did not score a run until the third inning when Edwards ripped a two-run homer. Logan Menzies singled home another run in the fourth before Kaelin Morkisch doubled home another to make it 4-0.
Olsen tacked on another run, scoring off a wild pitch in the sixth. Berg singled home another run in the seventh as Colorado Christian took home the 6-2 win.
Abrie Castillo snagged her 16th win of the season with seven strikeouts on just two runs allowed.
UP NEXT- The Cougars now prepare for a showdown at All Star Park against Colorado Mesa on April 23 starting with the first game at 9:30 a.m.
