Kayla Middleton brought in another run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth before an explosion from the plate in the fifth. Kenzie Middleton smacked an RBI double and Sami Edwards singled her home right after. Reamer picked up two more RBI with a single and Lujan brought home another two with a single of her own.Â

GAME TWO
Offense was not as prevalent in the second contest, as both teams struggled to score early on. The Cougars struck first via an error from the Cowgirls that allowed two to score. Another error in the third inning made it 3-0 Colorado Christian.Â
Kayla Middleton stretched the lead to 4-0 with an RBI single in the sixth as the Cougars looked to be in control. However, New Mexico Highlands staged a furious rally in their half of the sixth. An RBI single loaded the bases, and a grand slam in their next at bat gave the Cowgirls a 5-4 lead they would not relinquish, closing out the game with a double play.
