Both the Men's and Women's track teams made the trek to Pueblo, CO over the weekend to compete in the RMAC Championships for the Outdoor season. The Championships were originally scheduled to take place in Spearfish, SD, but a late change was made earlier in the week due to potential weather issues in South Dakota. The teams competed hard and had several good individual performances as the best of the RMAC took to the track.

Men's Recap: Â Â Â Â
Tyler Bradley had a strong finish for the Cougars in both the 100M and 200M events as his strong prelim races qualified him for the finals in both events. In the 100M Bradley finished with an impressive time of 10.65. In the 200M he finished with a time of 21.44 to finish in third place overall.
Â
In the 5000M,
Alex Vance ran a time of 14:45.37 which was a good enough time to be an NCAA Provisional time. That means that he is now qualified and has a chance to compete at the NCAA Championships coming up at the end of May.
Â
Women's Recap:Â Â Â Â
Michelle Kuipers ran in the 800M and during the prelims she ran a time of 2:11.61. That time qualified her for the finals and also was good enough for a NCAA Provisional time and will potentially have the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Championships later in May depending on her placement on the national list.
Â
Ashley Vil also impressed for CCU as she qualified for the finals in the Triple Jump. Her distance broke a school record for the event as she ended up jumping 11.14m (36'6.75").

Head coach
Jon Poag spoke after the event as he said, "I am really excited to see our team's development across all of our event groups this year. It was great to have Tyler do well in both the 100M and 200M. It was also great to see Michelle and Alex run their season best times and make the NCAA Provisional list during this key point in our season. Right now we have six athletes who have run Provisional times, and hopefully they will have a chance to run at the NCAA Championships later this month. It will all depend on the times from runners across the nation. This is the deepest I have ever seen the field this year as the talent levels across the country continue to rise, but I feel honored to have six kids that have a chance to compete at the highest level."
Â
Up next for the teams will be preparing for the NCAA Championships which will take place May 26-28
th. All of the runners will be looking to make final tweaks in hopes of improving their times and setting them up for success at the National level. Â
