The Cougars wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a doubleheader against Metro State to finish up the four game series. CCU got off to a roaring start on the day as they took the first game of the day by a final score of 9-5. However, Metro State was able to bounce back in the second game thanks to a strong pitching performance to win by a final score of 6-0.

Game One:Â Â Â Â Colorado Christian once again got off to an advantageous start in the first inning to jump out to the early lead.
Gabe Ramos got them on the board first as he doubled to right centerfield which scored both
Caden Walton and
Eli Ludwig who had both walked earlier in the inning. Russel Cruz added a sacrifice fly to put CCU up 3-0.

MSU battled back and eventually scored four unanswered runs, two in the first and two in the second innings to take their first lead of the game. The Cougars quickly rebounded as they regained the lead in the third inning.
Wyatt Crenshaw scored the equalizing run after singling to open up the inning.

The back and forth battle continued as Metro State once again evened the score in the fourth inning to make the score 5-5 heading into the middle innings.
Jeff Sanchez opened up the CCU sixth inning with a triple and came around to score on a
Kade Carney sacrifice fly which gave the Cougars the lead, a lead that they wouldn't relinquish throughout the remainder of the game.
Wyatt Crenshaw and
Jordan Medina had back to back doubles with runners on base in the eighth inning to add to their lead as it was now 9-5, which ended up being the final score.

Game Two:Â Â Â Â Â CCU ran into tough pitching in the second and final game of the series as three pitchers combined to shutout the Cougars offense and eventually went on to win 6-0.

Jeff Sanchez was the hitting star for the team as the Roadrunners could not figure out a way to get him out. Sanchez finished the game 3-3 with a double.
Robby Caro had a strong start on the mound for CCU as he went four innings and allowed just two runs on two hits.

The Cougars regular season is now complete as they will finish the year with a 17-32 overall record, and 13-19 in conference play.
