LAKEWOOD, CO- Following a 1-1 weekend, Colorado Christian is prepping for an away-home weekend series at Regis followed by UCCS at home. The Cougars will look to improve their conference record against two teams they have already played this season.



The Rangers are coming off a big win at MSU Denver and will look to continue the momentum at home on Friday. They are led offensively by David Simental who scores at a clip of 15.2 ppg. Aaron Bokol scores 10.4 ppg for his team. On the boards, Bokol tops his team with an average of 8.6 rebounds a game. Aiden Sevilla leads in assists per game with 2.3. In their last matchup on December 17, the Rangers edged the Cougars by a score of 81-80 in a nailbiter, so expect another tight contest on Friday. 

The Mountain Lions come into their Saturday contest at CCU winners of six of their last eight competitions. In their prior meeting in Colorado Springs, the Cougars took home a narrow 92-86 victory. Since then UCCS has caught fire, led by Jon'il Fugett with 13.8 points a game. William Becker is strong defensively with 8.9 boards a game, while Fugett dishes out 4.1 assists a contest. 

A balanced CCU attack is led by DJ McDonald with 13.3 ppg, closely followed by Jason Gallant at 12.4 points a game. Isaiah Alonzo averages 6.6 boards a game, while Maro Egodotaye pulls down 4.9 rebounds a contest. Gallant dishes out 3.2 assists per contest for his team as he makes an impact in many ways.

The Cougars will be looking for revenge from a close loss to Regis earlier in the year and will then search for a 2-0 record on the year against UCCS. Stay tuned to ccucougars.com for all updates.
