LAKEWOOD, CO- Coming off a tough battle on the road at Chadron State, the Cougars will return home for a Saturday evening matchup against Western Colorado at 7 p.m. MST. In the two teams matchup earlier this year, CCU claimed victory on the road in gunnison 61-57. 



The Mountaineers are having a tough year in RMAC play, coming into their tilt with CCU at 1-13 in conference play and on a six game losing streak. Desta Robel leads the team with 14.2 ppg, and Avery Rembao pours in 13.4 a contest. Robel leads the team in rebounds as well, pulling down 6.9 a game. Gino Corridori follows with 6.6 rpg. Rembao facilitates with 2.8 apg, while Grant Wilkinson averages 1.7 assists a night. WCU will certainly be looking to break their six game losing streak, and will come into Lakewood firing with nothing to lose. 

After a pair of tough road matchups at Black Hills State and Chadron State, the Cougars will look to right the ship in the friendly confines of the CCU Event Center. Offensively, it is DJ McDonald who leads the charge with 13.5 ppg. Right behind him is Jason Gallant, who has emerged as a star this year for his team with 13.1 points a contest. Isaiah Alonzo carries the bulk of the load in rebounds with 7.2 per game, while Maro Egodotaye snags 4.6 rpg. Gallant leads his team in assists, averaging 3.1 a game, and McDonald dishes out 2.5 apg. A hungry Cougars team will look to get back into the win column and defeat the Mountaineers for the second time this season and pick up the season sweep.
