LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their track athlete of the week on Wednesday, and after an impressive victory in the 3000m, Matthew Storer has been honored with the award. 

Storer did something truly special at the Potts Indoor Invitational hosted by CU Boulder on Saturday. Participating in the 3000m, Matt was taking on a plethora of division one athletes and even an Olympic athlete in the event. Storer stayed with the pack until the final few laps when he started to separate. Taking on Morgan Pearson, a participant in the 2020 summer olympics, Matt showed incredible stamina as he kicked on the final lap to take down Pearson and win the race. With an incredible converted time of 7:58.54, Matt posted an NCAA Provisional Qualifying Time and now sits at third in all of division two in the 3k. The result certainly turned heads and showed that Storer is not only one of the best distance runners in DII but in the entire country at any level.
