AMERICUS, GA- The Cougars continued their series with Georgia Southwestern State with a midday tilt on Saturday. One tough inning ended up dooming Colorado Christian, as four runs by the Canes in the second inning were the difference in a 4-1 setback. 

Brady Ritzmann got the start on the mound and was strong in every inning he pitched but the second. The Canes pushed across four runs in that inning to take an early advantage. The next four innings saw Brady shut down the home team as he finished with six strikeouts on 93 pitches. 

The offense for the Cougars had a hard time getting going, as the Cane's pitching showed they are a strong team on the mound. Aaron Morgan got some offensive momentum going as he led off the seventh with a double. After advancing to third, Kade Carney notched an RBI sacrifice fly to bring Morgan home and close the gap to 4-1. Luke Thompson doubled in the eighth but was unable to make it home and the home team came out on top 4-1. 

Colorado Christian will close their three-game set with the Canes on February 18 at 9 a.m. MST.
