Colorado Christian Honor Seniors Between Pair of Contests vs Regis

LAKEWOOD, CO- The Cougars celebrated senior day on Sunday in between a pair of contests with RMAC rival Regis. The day was festive, but the Rangers came away with a pair of victories in the end by scores of 18-7 and 27-10.

GAME ONE
The Rangers struck early for four runs in the first three innings, but CCU scored a pair of runs in the third to tighten the gap to 4-2. Unfortunately, Regis scored 11 straight from there to grab firm control of the game. A Luke Thompson double brought in a run in the fifth, and William Brassil and Jonny Tewinkel went back-to-back with a two-run blast from Brassil and a solo from Tewinkle. One more run came across for CCU, but in the end they fell by a final of 18-7.

GAME TWO
Once again the Rangers struck first with five runs in the second, but CCU had an answer. Tewinkle blasted his second homer of the day, RBI singles from Kade Carney and Luke Thompson made it 10-7 after five as the lead shrunk for Regis.

A huge two-run blast from Thompson continued the Cougars rally, and Tewinkle continued his scorching hot day at the plate with an RBI double. With the lead at 14-10, the visitors absolutely exploded in the seventh, scoring 13 runs on their way to the 27-10 final score.

Thompson led the offense with three RBI, followed by two from Tewinkle.

The Cougars play their final home games of the season April 29 as they take on Regis at noon and 3 p.m. MST from All Star Park.
