Colorado Christian Fall on the Road at CSU Pueblo

PUEBLO, CO- The Cougars hit the road on Saturday as they headed south to take on CSU Pueblo. After a tightly contested first half, the Thunderwolves pulled away in the second to deal a 70-49 defeat to the Cougars.

Pierce Bazil immediately scored to start the contest with a jumper, and a jumper and three-pointer from Pierce had CCU rolling offensively. Jimmy House slammed home a dunk, and a Porter Bazil three had CCU on top 14-12.

The teams traded baskets and CCU found themselves at the line frequently to close the half, while a Joshua Reid jumper cut the deficit to just one. A mini run to close the half from the Thunderwolves sent them to the break leading 30-24.

The hosts grabbed momentum early in the second half and never looked back, surging to a 19 point advantage with a big scoring run. Schafer Reichart hit a layup and three to cut into the lead, and it was trimmed to 14 with a three from Porter.

The Thunderwolves remained consistent from there, keeping their lead to the finish to close out a 70-49 victory on their home court.

Pierce led his team with 16 points, while Porter had 10. Reid pulled down 12 rebounds to go with nine points, and Reichart put in seven points.

The Cougars will look to get back on track on January 15 as they host crosstown rival MSU Denver at 8 p.m. MST inside the CCU Event Center.
