LAKEWOOD, CO- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced their weekly softball honors on Tuesday, and after a 6-1 week of competition,
Felesha LePenske and
Elyse McMullin swept the offensive and pitcher of the week awards for week 2 of the season.
LePenske earned her first offensive player of the week honor after a blistering week at the plate. The sophomore transfer tallied a team high 8 RBI in five tournament games, helping her team go 5-0 at the D2 West Coast Challenge. With a pair of homers and five runs scored, LePenske showed her versatility at the plate and on the basepaths. A dual-threat player who also pitches, Felesha has been a staple on the team early on and will continue to lead her team into RMAC play.
McMullin claimed Pitcher of the Week after she nearly had a perfect game in the circle against Cal State San Bernardino on Sunday. The Washington native had the best game of her career taking on the Coyotes, setting down the first 17 batters she faced before a bunt single in the bottom of the sixth narrowly made it safely to first. She proceeded to set down the next batter and the subsequent three in the seventh for the complete game one hitter. With three strikeouts and just 22 batters faced, McMullin led her team to an 8-0 victory to close the tournament strong.
Congratulations to
Felesha LePenske and
Elyse McMullin on being named RMAC Offensive Player and Pitcher of the Week!
