LAKEWOOD, CO- The NCAA announced their selections to the Women's Golf West Regional, and the Cougars found out they earned an at-large bid after a strong showing at the RMAC Championships.
CCU started the year with a second place finish at the Swan Memorial at Broadlands Golf Course, and they continued at the next tourney with a top 5 performance. A third place finish at the Southern Colorado Open in March gave the Cougars momentum, and they took that and ran with it. A strong overall performance saw the ladies tie for second at the RMAC Championship, led by
Raya Schulz with a second place finish and
Makenna Brown just behind in third.
An experienced and senior heavy squad that features three seniors and a junior, the Cougars will look to use that experience in their second straight Regional appearance. The top five teams out of the West Regional will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA National Championships that take place May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Stay tuned to ccucougars.com for all updates regarding the upcoming Regional that will take place May 4-6 just a few hours south at Pueblo Country Club.
