Edmond, Oklahoma - Colorado Christian took on Oklahoma Christian late Saturday morning at Eagle Soccer Field. Despite strong efforts, the Cougars fell 0-2 to the Eagles in their second road match.
Oklahoma Christian struck first in the 11th minute, taking an early 1-0 lead. The Cougars had a chance to answer shortly after,
Alexis Byrd putting a shot on goal, forcing the OC keeper into action.
Jordyn Rollins would similarly record a shot on target late in the first half, the Eagles ultimately going into the locker room with a goal advantage.
The Eagles added another goal in the 57th minute, forcing it to a 2-0 game early into the half. CCU continued to look for an opportunity to cut into the deficit, with
Kayla Truong putting a shot just over the top early in the second half and Byrd creating another chance in the 75th minute. Despite the Cougars continuing to apply late pressure, they ultimately couldn't find the back of the net for the 0-2 loss.
Byrd led the Cougars with three shots, including two on goal, while Rollins added one shot on target.
Kenzie Kunitz played the entirety of the match between the posts and made two saves.
The Cougars will look to bounce back in Hawaii against Chaminade and earn their first win Friday, September 4th with a 5pm kickoff MST.
