After spending the last 10 years as a player, Abe Lodwick enters his second season as assistant coach at Colorado Christian. Lodwick will play an important role in the advancement of the program through administrative efforts, recruiting and the individual skill development of the players.
He comes to Lakewood after playing basketball professionally in Europe for five years. Most recently he played in the top professional league in Belgium for Hubo Limburg United during the 2016-2017 season. From 2014-2016 he played in the same league for Crelan Okapi Aalstar near Brussels. Preceding that he played the 2013-2014 season in Austria for the Oberwart Gunners. He started his career in 2012 playing for Phoenix Hagen is the German Bundesliga. Each stop in Lodwick’s career included trips to the playoffs, highlighted by a trip to the Belgian League Championship in 2016 and a Cup Final appearance in 2017.
Lodwick attended college at Washington State University where he played from 2007-2012. He played two years for Tony Bennett and three for Ken Bone. Bone’s head assistant was current Colorado Christian University head Coach Jeff Hironaka.
While at WSU, Lodwick and the team enjoyed some of the most successful years in school history with postseason play in 4 of the 5 years he was there highlighted by a Sweet 16 appearance in 2008, losing to eventual national champions North Carolina. Lodwick was also selected team captain from 2009-2012. At WSU he had the opportunity to play with numerous current and former professionals including Klay Thompson, Aron Baynes, Kyle Weaver, Xavier Thames, Derrick, Low, Taylor Rochestie and Brock Motum, among others.
Lodwick took academics seriously during his time in college as well and received All-Academic Pac-10/12 First-Team honors in 2011 and Second-Team honors in 2012. He was also selected to the NABC Honors Court in 2010. He graduated in 2012 with a degree in Organizational Communication and a second major in Political Science. He will be pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration at Colorado Christian University.
