CCU Volleyball delivered a healthy dose of revenge Friday. After losing to Black Hills State less than a week ago, the Cougars shook off any hint of a post-loss slump Friday, handling the Yellow Jackets in a statement four sets. The win marked the 15^th of the season for Colorado Christian, and moves the two squads into a tie for fifth place with just a little more than two weeks remaining on the 2014 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule.
 
With junior Taylor Sturms leading the way, Christian launched a heavy-handed onslaught that put the BHSU squad on their heels from the opening point. Sturms' 19 kills set the mark for the night, and helped Christian better the Jackets by 23 kills (67 to 44). Mollie Bailey got in on the action too, tallying 15 from the pin. The Cougars wrapped the night hitting .229 as a group, with efficiency boosts coming from Ali Weber (.320) and Marnie McIlraith (.714).
 
Of course, a strong offense only gets half the job done. Fortunately, the Cougar defense was on point as well. CCU out-did their opponents by 16 digs, getting 23 from libero Joelle LeFevre and 20 from Sturms. Christian's 92-dig effort marked the best showing of the season – while they normally average 17 digs per set, CCU averaged 23 in the 25-14, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19 win.  
 
Senior setter Jordan Kissman tallied 61 assists against the Yellow Jackets, missing her season-high mark by just one.
 
The Cougars return to Lakewood Saturday – they'll host Chadron State at the Event Center at 7pm.
