Though they beat the Mountain Lions in three sets in the season's first meeting, Colorado Christian Volleyball couldn't pull off the sweep Friday night in Colorado Springs. As quickly as they beat UCCS on October 5, the Cougars lost the second time around – falling 3-0 to drop to 16-10 on the year and 8-7 in RMAC play.
Â
From the start of the night it was obvious things wouldn't go Christian's way. UCCS pounced on the CCU squad, jumping out to a 7-1 lead that would soon extend to 20-6. By the time the 25-11 decision was in the books, the Cougars had managed just six kills and a meager .040 attack percentage. Though they bettered their efforts at the net from there, Colorado Christian would never recover.
Â
The home Mountain Lions, on the other hand, had no trouble scoring. A .312 attack clip came off a 45-kill effort. UCCS bettered the Cougars in nearly every aspect – tallying ten blocks to CCU's three in addition to four aces and 48 digs.

Junior
Kaylee Pierce notched Christian's only strong offensive effort against the Mountain Lions. The Centennial native totaled 12 kills on 25 attempts for a .280 clip at the net.
Â
Eager to return to the win column with just a week left of RMAC play, the Cougars will look to sharpen play in a hurry. They'll travel to Regis University on Saturday for a 5pm contest against the Rangers.
