Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Chadron Seals the Deal Against Christian

The Lady Cougars had yet another five set match on Saturday night against Chadron State College. CSC won with scores of 25-18, 16-25, 25-19, 18-25, and 15-6. This will mark CCU's 6th five set match, half of which they have won, and all of them being conference games.

This game was up and down for both teams, rallying back and forth to come out on top. Christian had some great runs in the second and forth sets thanks to their 12 aces which Jordan Carswell had five to contribute.

Freshman #12, Joy Kurosawa, from Aiela, Hawaii put on the libero jersey in this match, and did a phenomenal job in the back row for the Cougars. She had a total of 23 digs, one ace, and only two service passing errors.

Leading at the net was Junior outside hitter, Mollie Bailey, who was unstoppable against the Eagles. Bailey had 17 kills, with only five errors, and 37 total attempts which had her hitting a team high of .324%.

Despite Bailey's effort to score points for blue and gold, the rest of the team could not follow only hitting a .143% vs. Chadron's .191%. Bailey stated after the game, "We are on an uphill battle of coming together as a team. There will be highs and lows on that journey and tonight just happened to be one of those lows. We are only going to keep going up as we start to mesh and consistently believe in ourselves and one another. We have the ability! It is going to take our team playing together rather than being worried about our own individual mistakes. We are in a good spot right now to reach our full potential."

Colorado Christian Volleyball will be back on their home court in Lakewood, CO for the next five games. Their next match is against Western State Colorado University on October 23rd in the CCU Event Center at 6 PM.
