CCU women's soccer played Colorado State University Pueblo on Sunday afternoon, losing in overtime just 1-0. This heartbreaking loss was the Cougars 13
th for the season making their overall record 0-13-2, and RMAC record 0-10-1.
The match started off with possession and shots being dominated by blue and gold. CCU was able to take six shots in just the first period compared to CSUP's four shots. Going into the second period, the tables turned and Pueblo's squad took control of the game with ten shots compared to Christian's one shot. Despite their efforts, neither team was able to execute a goal which led to overtime.
The referee blew the whistle to start the third period, and one minute later the Thunderwolves drove the ball down towards CCU goalie
Claire LaValley, and sank the ball in the back of the net. LaValley had nine saves for Colo. Christian.
Women's Soccer will be competing against UCCS on Friday October 23
rd at Lakewood Memorial Field. Kick off time is set for 1 PM.
