The Lady Cougars were stomped on by the UCCS Mountain Lions in three quick sets at home. The first set was 25-14, second set 25-19, and third set 25-22. CCU has been on the road for the last two weekends. In their last four matches, they have taken three teams to five sets, winning two out of the four. This 3-0 shutout was a tough loss for blue and gold.
Colo. Christian was beat out by UC Colorado Spring's offense. The Mountain Lions were unstoppable at the net with 45 kills, 12 errors, and 102 attacks, they hit a total of .324 on the night. CCU had 36 kills, 21 errors, and 100 attacks, equaling a .150 hitting percentage. Both squads had six total team blocks.
Kaylee Pierce had an amazing showing for the Lady Cougs with 12 kills, 0 errors, and 18 total attacks. She was CCU's top scorer for the match, hitting a .667.
Even though CCU had four more digs than UCCS on the night, their high errors at the net led to the loss.
Colorado Christian Volleyball will be playing against Metro State University at the CCU Event Center on Saturday 10/10 at 2 PM.
