Cougars Lose Final Game of the Year

Colorado Christian women's soccer traveled to Golden to take on Colorado School of Mines on Sunday afternoon for their final game of the year. CCU was defeated by Mines 1-0 in a strong defensive battle. This game marks the end of the 2015 season for the Christian squad.

Both defenses came to play on the day, as they each held the opponents offense in check throughout the first half. With the game still tied at 0-0 in the second half, Mines went on the attack and drove the ball deep in the Cougar zone. Driving into the box, a Mines attacker was taken down from behind which resulted in a penalty kick. They took advantage of the mistake and scored on the penalty kick which was the difference in the game.

With the loss, the Cougars record drops to 0-15-3 for the year. Despite the poor record, the Colorado Christian team showed improvement throughout the year. Coach Tammy McPherson has a strong foundation that she can build upon moving forward to 2016 and beyond.
