Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Christian Comeback in Burnaby

Colorado Christian Men's Basketball packed their suitcases this week and traveled all the way to British Columbia to play Simon Fraser University on Friday night. CCU was able to pick up their first win of the season with a score of 89-82. This game was full of excitement and surprise considering the Cougs were down all the way until there were 14 minutes left in the game, where they tied the score and then jumped ahead.

Colorado Christian was within close reach most of the first half, working hard to catch up to the Clan. They were led by Wayne McCullough with nine points in the first, and the team shot a total of 42% FG and 40% 3FG. SFU was consistent in their play and continued to score in the paint over and over again, which hindered CCU from closing the gap.

It was in the second half where Cougar Basketball started heating up. Specific players like CCU junior Isaiah Hanson could not be stopped and racked up the points going 5-6 FGM/FGA and 4-4 3FGM/3FGA earning blue and gold 19 points in the second and 24 points total in the game. Hanson led the team for the night in points and got the momentum rolling for the rest of the team. Point Guard, Zach McLemore stayed consistent in his play and scored 21 for the Cougs. Wayne McCullough and Ty McGee both contributed 16 points in this game as well.

Colo. Christian continues to pull together as a team and sharpen their play. You can see their mental strength develop every game, and count on a hard-fought battle when they are on the court.

CCU will be back at Simon Fraser University for a rematch against the Clans at 7 PM MST.
