Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Buzzer Beater Win for Cougars

Colorado Christian Men's Basketball defeated Bethel College 80-79 in the last four seconds of the game when CCU's starting point guard Zach McLemore took what seemed to be the game winning shot but missed, and teammate Ty McGee recovered the ball shooting a reverse layup that flew high in the air dropping in the basket with only 1/10th of a second left on the clock! The crowd went crazy as the buzzer went off, and CCU was happy to get their third win of the season.

The Cougar's offense keeps getting smarter and more aggressive every game they play. Blue and gold had their best game offensively when it came to taking care of the rock by only turning it over four times. On the other side of the court the Cougs created 12 turnovers and converted those into 16 points. Christian also used strong shooting from the free throw line knocking down 7 of 10 in the second half after no attempts in the first.

CCU senior Wayne McCullough came up big with 22 points going 8 of 11 from the field and shot 4-7 from downtown. Adding to the offensive output Zach McLemore scored 16 points while dishing out seven assists. In addition to McGee's game winning shot he also put together a double-double on the night with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Collectively on the night Colo. Christian shot 47.7 % from the field and 34.4% from three-point land.

Despite the strong effort from the Thresher's #11 Jenson Kingsley who went 8-15 from three-point range, CCU was able to protect their home court with a solid finish to capture their first win of the 2015 Thanksgiving Classic. Colorado Christian will be playing Bethany College from Lindsborg, KS on 11/28 in the CCU Event Center. Tip-off is set for 7 PM.
