Heading into the second half, the Cougars were determined to fight their way to earn their first conference victory of the season. With 11 minutes remaining, it looked like CCU had what it was going to take as they took the lead over Fort Lewis by a score of 54-53, but Fort Lewis answered in a big way as they rattled off a 22-2 scoring run which buried Colorado Christian in a hole that they could not overcome.
Leading the way on offense for the Cougars on the night was
Isaiah Hanson who rattled off 15 points while shooting 3-5 from downtown on the game. Coach
Kevin Lubbers spoke after the game saying, "Games are 40 minutes, and on both nights this weekend we had lapses that cost us. We have a big week ahead starting with practice Monday to get ready for a very good Westminster team."
The team will return home for a two game home stand which will lead them into the winter break. Next Friday Dec. 18
th they will face off against Westminster College at the CCU Event Center in Lakewood, CO. Tip-off is scheduled for 7PM MST.
