The 2015 RMAC opener was a regrettable one for Colorado Christian Men's Soccer. Paired up against the nation's 24
th ranked Colorado Mines, the Cougars found themselves out-matched in nearly every way. After 90, CCU was saddled with a tough 6-0 loss and an 0-5 mark on the season.
Â
The Mines squad scored early and often in the night-time affair, striking first eight and a half minutes into the game. The Preston Migaki goal off a Nikolaus Grotz pass put the home Orediggers up 1-0 and then 2-0, as the two struck gold again a little more than four minutes later. By halftime, Mines owned a 5-0 lead.
Â
Christian keeper
Brandon Eide did his best to survive an onslaught of 24 CSM shots, ten of them on goal. The junior totaled four saves in the loss. CCU's offense never got off the ground – the Cougars finished with just eight shots.
Â
Still on the hunt for their first win of the season, Colorado Christian will attempt to find it Sunday against Colorado State Pueblo at Trailblazer. Game time is set for noon.
