Colorado Christian Volleyball went into Saturday night's match at Western State Colorado University riding a four-match win-streak. Regrettably, the Cougars' fortunes fell fast at Paul Wright Gym, as after winning the opening set CCU plummeted to a skid that would end in a 25-19, 10-25, 12-25, 20-25 loss to the Mountaineers. The set-back marked the first of the RMAC season for the blue and gold.

It was a dismal evening for Christian's normally dependable offense, and the squad's woes at the net infected their play the length of the night. Unable to overcome a .037 kill percentage, the Cougars sputtered through all four sets, committing 30 attack errors to go along with 11 miscues at the service line, seven in the passing lanes, and six ball handling errors. When all was said and done, CCU had given the home Mountaineers more than half of the points they'd need to win the match.

Freshman
Hope Baldrica provided a solitary source of execution for Colorado Christian, as the Ashland, OR native notched a team-best nine kills on 18 attempts with only one error. While no Cougar hitters managed a kill clip better than .100, Baldrica boasted a .444 – better than any other player in the night's match.

Libero
Joelle LeFevre also turned in a match high, tallying 21 digs in CCU's 55-dig effort.

Eager to put their slip in Gunnison behind them, the 8-6 Cougars will return to Lakewood to prepare for the coming weekend's road stretch. CCU will travel to Alamosa and Durango Friday and Saturday to tussle with Adams State and Fort Lewis College.
