Colorado Christian hit the road on Friday afternoon as they were in Gunnison, CO to take on Western State in a conference matchup. Both teams' defenses ruled the day, as the game ended in a 0-0 tie. It is the second consecutive draw for the Christian squad.

Senior
Shaya Lawrence got the start in goal for the Cougars on the day, and was phenomenal as she shutout the Mountaineers offense for 110 minutes of action. She was helped by the strong defensive help from the Cougars back line in
Caitlyn Troupe,
Meghan Troupe, and
Maddison Hogan. All four played great games as they refused to let Western State take advantage of any of their scoring chances.

On the offensive side of the ball,
Alyssa Regalado led the team in shots with four in the game.
Mariah Fredericks also had three shots, and
Mollie Monson had two.
Hannah Triem nearly ended the game three minutes into the first overtime, but her shot was grabbed by the Mountaineers keeper to prevent the CCU victory.

With the tie, the CCU record now sits at 5-6-2 overall, and 2-3-2 in conference play. They will remain on the road for their next game which is Sunday Oct. 16
th when they travel to Colorado Springs to take on UCCS. That game will begin at 2:30PM MST.
