Men's Soccer Blanked by Adams

The Cougars were in Alamosa on Sunday afternoon, as they squared off against Adams State for the second time in seven days. After a close first half, the Grizzlies scored four goals in the second, to defeat CCU by a final score of 5-0.

It was a stalemate for the majority of the first half, as neither team was able to get into the scoring column during the first 40 minutes of play. Adams scored the opening marker in the 43rd minute, as they were able to get behind the Colorado Christian defense. Heading into the break, the score was 1-0 in favor of the Grizzlies.

Coming out of halftime, Adams State came out with an offensive mindset which proved to be too much to handle for CCU. ASU scored in the 48th, 56th, 80th, and 87th minute, which gave them the 5-0 victory. The Cougs were outshot in the game 20-8.

With the loss, CCU's record now sits at 1-15 overall, and 1-11 in conference play. The team will now prepare for a midweek tilt against Colorado School of Mines, as they face the Orediggers on Wednesday Oct. 26th in Golden, CO.
