Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

3-0 Win Over Regis University

CCU Volleyball defeated Regis University in three straight sets, bumping them up to the seven spot in the RMAC.

The Rangers have been #4 in the conference for the past few weeks now, and are a talented team earning their way to the top. Regis has lost a total of five games in the league- #1 Metro State twice, UCCS, Western, and now the Lady Cougars.

The Cougs prepared all week for the Rangers, and really proved themselves in the match winning 25-16, 25-19, and 25-21. This was the first win back from being on the road and losing four in a row. It was a combination of being on their home court and stepping up their game.

Blue and gold's offense was flawless in the three sets earning 45 kills with only nine errors, and a total team percentage of .310 (fourth highest this season). Opposite #5 Sophia Proano had 13 kills with zero errors. Senior #3 Taylor Sturms had 11 kills, and middle hitter #8 Aubrey Parker put down eight. CCU's hitters were all on, but the cougar's serves were what did the Ranger's in.

Regis could not handle the heat from the back line. CCU totaled six aces and the rangers passed poorly. Not only did their back row struggle, but the front line had a hard time staying consistent. #7 Katie Klein, RU's strongest hitter, led her team with 12 kills against the Cougs.

CCU senior #9 Mollie Bailey had a team high of 13 digs, and setter #18 Kylee Wurster made 42 assists. #4 Abigail Bartalo won three points for CCU with her float serve. Christian had the momentum the entire match and did not let up in any area of their game.

Colorado Christian will be at home on 10/19 for a five o'clock match time vs Chadron State College. This final home game will feature and honor the two Cougar seniors Mollie Bailey and Taylor Sturms.
