Patriots Power Over Cougars

Cougar Tennis played on their home court at Lakewood Park on Wednesday afternoon. The men and women's teams would be defeated by Dallas Baptist University 1-8 and 0-9.

CCU men's doubles didn't go down without a fight, dropping the three close matches by 8-6, 8-6, and 8-4. Barrett Cooper would take the single win for blue and gold, men and women, defeating DBU's Donald Kelly Jr. 8-5.

"Boys fought hard and played some of their better doubles but unfortunately we came up short on some big points. Barrett came up with a good win at #6."-Coach John Goodrich

The Lady Cougars struggled against the strong Patriots squad. Doubles team Paige Crews and Maddie Andersson would have the closest game losing 8-6 against Dallas Baptist's Banic and Fernandez duo.

"Paige and Maddie played some of their best doubles today showing they can compete with the elite teams out there and it was great to see them step their level of play up." –JG

CCU will travel to Southern California March 18th-21st competing against Hope International, Biola University, and Azusa Pacific.
