Colorado Christian began conference play on Friday afternoon as they faced off against Regis University. Thanks to an overtime goal from
Mariah Fredericks, The Cougars won by a final score of 2-1.

CCU dominated the possession in the first half, but Regis was the only side to capitalize on an opportunity, as they led the Cougs 1-0 heading into the break. The Rangers were able to hold onto the lead for the first 20 minutes of the second half, but then
Kielli Jordan found the back of the net in the 66
th minute. Jordan placed a left footed strike perfectly into the upper left corner of the net, just past the reach of the Regis goalkeeper.
Sheridan Spelman nearly ended the game just before the end of regulation as she sent a header just above the goal with only ten seconds left in the game. At the end of regulation, the game remain tied 1-1, and headed into overtime.

As the overtime opened up, the Cougars took possession and worked it into the Regis zone. A ball sent out behind the net by the Rangers defender setup a corner kick for CCU.
Alyssa Regalado took the corner kick and sent it towards the top of the box. The ball bounced around off of defenders before bouncing back to
Mariah Fredericks, who then lifted a shot over the keeper and into the back of the net to secure the 2-1 victory.
