The Lady Cougars shutout New Mexico Highlands in three on Saturday night. The first two sets were 25-22 and the third ended 25-18.
It was an all-around clean match for the Cougars who focused on their side of the court and did what they needed to do well in order to win. Highlands' blocks was strong, but struggled in the passing lanes, preventing them from running their offense.
In the second set, CCU ran a 6-2 with #2 junior transfer setter
Bailey Crenshaw and #6 junior transfer RS
Marilyn Suarez. Crenshaw racked up eight assists and one ace. The Cougs adjusted well to the creativity, and even saw #9

Cali Bahnsen and
Taylor Sturms racked up kills on the outside. Bahnsen played her best game all year with 11 kills off 22 attempts at .364%. Sturms also had a showing with 18 digs, 10 kills, and one ace.

Sophia Proano tied with Bahnsen in kills at 11 and hit a .241%. Proano and #8 MH
Aubrey Parker put up a wall on the right side with four blocks. Parker had a team high attack percentage at .455 with five kills and no errors off 11 attempts.
Colo. Christian is now 7-4 overall and 1-1 in the RMAC. There next match will be at the CCU Event Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22
