Double Overtime Tie for Men's Soccer

Kicking off homecoming weekend, CCU Men's Soccer took to their home field against CSU Pueblo on a beautiful day in Lakewood, Colorado at 11am. After going into double overtime, the game ended in a tie with a final score of 1-1.

The first half the Thunderwolves outshot the Cougars eleven to five, but none of them were able to find the back of the net resulting in a halftime score of 0-0.
The first goal of the game was made ten minutes into the second half, when Protus Babaya of the Thunderwolves scored.

Nathanael Flack scored his first season goal to tie up the game in the 79th minute. The goal was made off of a free kick just outside the box from sophomore Larson Hanlin, who set it up perfectly for Flack to head the ball into the top right corner.

In the first overtime CSUP got up three shots, and CCU got up one. The second overtime saw CCU getting four shots, and CSUP getting one. Overall, the Thunderwolves got up 27 total throughout the game and the Cougars got up 15. Freshman goalie Will Ford had six saves to help secure the tie.

The tie gives the Cougars an RMAC record of 1-6-2, and 1-9-3 overall. The Cougars host another home game this Sunday, October 15th against UCCS who is currently 5th in conference at 11am.
