Coming off of a big win the night before, CCU Volleyball took their eighth win in a row against Western State in four sets with scores of 25-18, 25-19, 26-28, and 25-14.

The first set the Cougars were able to take the lead early on, and were ahead by seven when the score hit 20-13. The Mountaineers were unable to come back from the deficit, and took the loss with a final score of 25-18. Junior middle blocker Hope Baldrica lead the Cougars in the first set with four kills.

Starting out the set was point for point, but the Cougars were finally able to pull away once the score was tied at 7 and win the game by six. Yet again, Baldrica had four kills in the set to lead the Cougars in the 25-19 win.

Once again the third set was point for point, which lead Western to call a timeout at 13-13. The trend continued, but the Mountaineers were able to pull away and take the lead by three with a score of 21-18, forcing the Cougars to call a timeout. The match continued on point for point, and the Cougars called another timeout when the Mountaineers were ahead 26-25. The Mountaineers were able to prevail and win the set by two with a score of 28-26.

Sophomore right side Hailey Ferguson lead the Cougars in set three with an impressive seven kills and a .636 hitting percentage.

Set four was destined to follow the trend of point for point, but CCU was able to pull away when the score was tied six to six. The Mountaineers called a timeout when the Cougars were ahead 20-12. The lead was maintained the rest of the set, and the Cougars took set four to win the match with a score of 25-14.
