The Cougars were on the road Saturday night as they took on CSU-Pueblo. The Cougs took a lead into halftime, but the ThunderWolves used a strong offensive performance in the second half to eventually defeat CCU by a final score of 87-79.

CCU had a pedestrian start to begin the game, but strong defense still had them in the lead 4-3 four minutes into the game. Then the Cougar offense went ice cold, and CSUP started to heat up. Over the course of the next four minutes the ThunderWolves went on a 13-0 run, and took a 17-4 lead. The Cougs finally awoke from their offensive slumber, and began to shoot themselves back into the game. CCU rattled off an 18-4 run, and with seven minutes left in the first half they took a 22-21 lead over CSU-Pueblo. The remainder of the half was a back and forth battle, as the lead went back and forth a total of 10 times. When all was said and done, Christian took a slim two point lead into the break with the score 39-37.

Ty McGee led the Cougars in scoring in the first half, as he dropped in 15 points in the half on 7-11 shooting from the floor, and 1-2 from downtown.
Dimitri Saliba also had a good first half as he scored 13 points on 6-7 shooting from the floor and hit his only attempt from beyond the arc.

CSU-Pueblo opened up the second half in a scoring frenzy and took control of the game. The ThunderWolves scored the first 12 points of the half, and took a 10 point lead 39-49 just three minutes into the half. The offensive barrage from CSUP continued as they hit shot after shot from beyond the arc, and with just over 10 minutes left in the game, they had extended their lead to 17 points as they led 54-71 over CCU. The double digit deficit remained until the final minute when CCU managed to score the final nine points in the game, but it was too little too late, as they lost the game by a final score of 79-87.

Ty McGee scored 24 points to lead the team. McGee also grabbed seven rebounds in the game.
Brett Brady scored 21 points while hitting 4-8 from three.
Dimitri Saliba had 16 points, grabbed six boars, and had three assists. Rounding out the top scorers for CCU is
Jacob Taylor, who finished with 10 points.

The Cougars record now sits at 13-13 overall, and 10-10 in conference play. Colorado Christian will now prepare for the final two games of the regular season. First they will face off against Metro State University on Feb. 24
th. The game will begin at 7PM MST.
