Coming into the game, both teams had almost identical records. CCU was 1-4-1, and MSU was 1-5-0. In conference play, both teams each had a win and loss to their name. When both teams met for the first time this season only a week ago, CCU was able to beat MSU for the first time in 15 years. But this week The Roadrunners swept The Cougars with a final score of 4-0.
The Cougars were off to a slow start in the first half and were unable to take any shots. At the half, the cougars trailed 2-0. The Roadrunners were able to put up 16 shots, and dealt 6 fouls while CCU dealt 4 fouls and one yellow card.
The second half The Cougars were able to come alive and put five shots up, but none of them found the back of the net. The Roadrunners were able to add another goal halfway through the second half off of a penalty kick, to make the score 3-0. CCU got another five fouls to total to nine, and another yellow card. MSU added on nine fouls to make a total of fourteen, and three yellow cards.

Eduardo Martinez was close to putting CCU on the board in the last few minutes of play, but it missed and hit the crossbar. In the final minute of play, MSU hit one more shot to solidify the win with a final score of 4-0. This gives MSU a conference record of 2-1, and CCU a conference record of 1-2.

Taylor Budzinski stayed busy and had 3 saves out of the 29 shots taken from MSU.

th, at Trailblazer Stadium against South Dakota School of Mines.
