CCU Men's Soccer was defeated by the University of Mary 1-0 on Labor Day Sept. 4
th. The Cougars had a rough start as the Marauders dominated possession and scored a goal right away two minutes into the game. It was a long ball off a foul from the 45 that landed right in the top of the box. CCU Goalie
Bret Folks tried to make the stop, but the ball was placed perfectly. Despite the early defeat, the Cougs stayed aggressive and determined. Cougar freshman #19
Zion Lander had an impressive performance with three shots, one on goal. Lander was consistently in the right place at the right time, but couldn't get past Mary's defense. Right beside Lander was CCU forward #10
Blake Goodale. Goodale led the team in goals last season and is continuing to prove his offensive skills with four shots, two on goal vs the Marauders. Christian had 12 total shots with four on goal compared to Mary's eight shots and three on goal. It was a second half surge for CCU that ended in a sore defeat. The minutes ran down and the Cougs came up short, but it didn't feel that way after such a strong offensive performance. Colo. Christian Men's Soccer will continue their preseason home stretch on Sept. 7
th vs Western Washington University. Kick-off will be at 4:00 PM at Trailblazer Stadium.
