Cougars Downed by #9 Orediggers

LAKEWOOD, CO – For nearly 30 minutes at the start and at the end, the game was played evenly on the scoreboard. The middle 30 minutes belonged to Colorado School of Mines.

The ninth-ranked Orediggers scored five in goals in roughly a 30-minute stretch to secure the win against Colorado Christian.

With the victory Colorado School of Mines remains undefeated in eight RMAC games.

HOW IT HAPPENED: While Colorado School of Mines controlled play in the early minutes, the Cougars had opportunities to find the back of the cage but the game remained scoreless for over 30 minutes.

Colorado School of Mines scored their initial goal in the 34th minute when John Haist scored on a penalty kick that boomed into the upper left corner. Haist scored his second goal of the game, and 14th of the season, a minute later when he took a feed from the middle off of Baptise Bebuire's foot.

The visitors scored their third goal less than a minute into the second frame as Ford Edwards scored on a one-touch volley from a Ben Overholt pass. Closing out the scoring with goals in the 64th minute were Greyson Adams and Overholt.

UP NEXT: The Cougars host South Dakota School of Mines and Technology tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Trailblazer Stadium. The game was moved from Sunday because of threaten weather.
