Wolves Deal Defeat

Playing their last away game of non-conference, the Cougars faced the Wolves of Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. Colorado Christian took their third loss of the season with a final score of 64-35.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The game was off to a slow start for the Cougars, as the Western defense put the pressure on from the get go, forcing 7 turnovers in the first 12 minutes of play. By the half the Cougars had 11 turnovers to the Wolves 2.

The first five points for the Cougars came from Jake Hornick after a deep three and a couple free throws.  At the half Hornick led the team with 7 points.

Coming into the second half the Wolves were quick to get their offense running, doubling the Cougars points in the first few minutes with a score of 46-23. The Western defense shut down Colorado Christian's offense, only allowing them to score 3 points 11 minutes into the second half.

After being fouled on a made three pointer, Tyler Murrell pulled the team back up as he made his free throw for the four point play.

The turnovers were a big part of the Cougars fall, after having 20 to the Wolves 5. Western took advantage and scored 21 points off of turnovers.

COUGAR LEADERS: Leading Colorado Christian offensively was Tyler Murrell with 8 points. Leading in rebounds was Terry McFadden with 6.

UP NEXT: The loss gives the Cougars an overall record of 1-3. The teams next game will be against Haskell University as they host their home opener on Friday, November 23rd at 3pm.
