Cougars Searching for First Win

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Cougars are looking for a spark and there's just not finding it right now.

Colorado Christian dropped a 7-0 contest to NCAA Division II newcomer Westminster on Sunday afternoon at Trailblazer Stadium.

The Cougars are looking for their first win of the season while the Griffins move to 5-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in RMAC contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Westminster put three goals on the scoreboard in the opening half then scored four times early in the second frame.

Kaden Amano scored twice as he found the back of the cage in the 50th and 52nd minutes respectively. Cristian Alfaro also posted a brace with goals in the 26th and 53rd minutes.

Jake Jensen opened the scoring with his first goal of the season just over 14 minutes into the contest. After Alfaro's first net-finder, Brody Nelson scored the final goal of the opening frame in the 27th minute.

Alec Marshall rounded out the scoring in the 54th minute.
