GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Playing a ranked team is not a good way to break a losing skid.

On Friday evening Colorado Mesa notched a 6-0 men's soccer conference win against Colorado Christian.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The 17th ranked Mavericks scored three goals in each of the halves in claiming the home win.

Kevin Chavez scored the first two goals of the games in the 18th and 23rd minutes respectively. Colorado Mesa added their final net-finder of the frame when James McGhee tallied his third goal of the season in the 31st minute.

With goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half, the Mavericks completed the scoring. Peter Vandam and Connor Lowdermilk each scored their first goals of the season in the 51st and 55th minutes respectively. Lawan Abary rounded out the scoring with his RMAC leading eighth goal of the season moments later.
