RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Cougars had some positivity late but early frustration proved costly.
The South Dakota School of Mines found the back of the cage twice in the opening minutes which helped them to a 3-1 RMAC win against Colorado Christian on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Hardrockers scored two early goals that proved to be critical in getting the win. Less than two minutes into the contest the home team found the back of the cage as Justin Barkow contributed his first goal of the season.
South Dakota School of Mines scored what proved to be the game winner when Garrett Bonzell took a pass from Barkow and beat Cougar goalie
Zach Roberts in the 15th minute.
George Martinez gave the Hardrockers a 3-0 lead in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal. In the 75th minute
Dmitri Fabro put the Cougars on the scoreboard with a penalty kick. Moments later
Ethan Poulter put a header on cage but his attempt to pull Colorado Christian within one goal was thwarted by Kyle Daledovich.
