LAKEWOOD, CO – After Friday afternoon's performance the defending conference champions showed they are on track to repeat.
The Colorado School of Mines men's soccer squad notched a 7-0 win against Colorado Christian to remain undefeated in RMAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Orediggers scored five first half goals and then added two more in the second stanza.
Tristan Semelsberger notched a pair of goals on both of his shot attempts while adding an assist during his 70 minutes of playing time. Lucas King registered three assists while playing two-thirds of the contest.
Ben Overholt showed why he was an all-conference player when he opened the scoring in the second minute with a tough angled shot from the right side.
Semelsberger scored his first goal in the sixth minute before Jason Zobott continued the scoring with a 13th minute net-finder. The first frame's goals were rounded out by Ford Edwards and Zach Achibald in the 30th and 34th minutes respectively.
During the first half, the Cougars nearly got on the scoreboard when Ethan Poulter bicycled kicked a pass to Liam Lakey but his shot attempt hit the crossbar in the 19th minute.
Semelsberger scored his final goal in the 51st minute then Jacob Eanes completed the scoring in the 59th minute.
