Hanson Hits Milestone vs. Fort Lewis

DURANGO, CO – Despite a setback in the loss column, there was a bit of positive news for Colorado Christian.

Jeremiah Hanson notched his 1,000th career point as Colorado Christian dropped an 81-72 decision on the road to Fort Lewis on Friday evening.

MR. 1000: Highlighting the night for the Cougars was Hanson reaching his career milestone. The native of Plymouth, MN is at least the ninth player in school history to accomplish the feat. The senior is the first player at Colorado Christian to reach the mark since the 2015 season when Michael Brown turned the trick.

HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED HAPPENED: The home team broke open the contest late in the first half. After Braxton Tucker made the score 32-30 Fort Lewis, the SkyHawks proceeded to finish the stanza by scoring 12 of the next 14 points to take a 44-32 lead at intermission.

They continued to hold that double figure lead as the early stages of the second half unfolded. Colorado Christian chipped away and got their deficit down to 62-60 with 7:59 left after a Braxton Tucker lay-up. However, Fort Lewis wouldn't let the Cougars get any closer down the stretch.

COUGAR LEADERS: Braxton Tucker scored a team best 23 points while shooting 11-for-16 from the floor. He also grabbed a Cougar-best seven rebounds. Justin Engesser and Hanson each had 13 points while Jake Hornick (10) rounded out the double figure scorers. Hornick also dished out a team high seven assists.
