Day Does It Again

It was announced last week that junior third basemen Stephanie Day was named to the All-American Team for the second year in a row. This year she was named to the second team for her performance at the plate and at third base.

Day has improved her numbers every year and her awards are well-earned. Easily one of the hardest working players on the team, she is a leader in many aspects on and off the field. When asked if she planned on making any changes to her seemingly fool proof system for her final year, Stephanie said "As far as the game plan for this upcoming season, I'm going to continue with the same approach in both on and off season. I'm very excited for our coaching staff this year as I know they have plans to keep our bodies in shape with cardio, drills, and workout. The only aspect I might be more intentional about this last year is diving more into the Bible and reading up on sports novels. Not only can we all improve our physical bodies, but we can train and prepare our mental game as well. I strongly believe we can all make a conscious effort to get better and better for ourselves and for each other. This final season is about laying it all out on the field for one another and the glory of God."

With strong motives to succeed and be her best, her drive is in line with the team goals. When asked how the team plans to prepare over the summer, Day said "Our team has really bought into the legacy CCU Softball has created, so our girls are super excited to start our off season training and workouts with our favorite athletic trainer of all time Taylor Lange. I'm really proud of our girls love, passion, and determination to work hard for each other, so much that we have girls getting strict on dietary plans and workouts. We also want to utilize this time to let our bodies rest and be proactive about season/chronic injuries."

Overall the two time All-American Stephanie Day has already left a strong mark on the program and the school and looks forward to making her last year the best one yet. She finished at the top of the charts for not only the team but also the conference, and even claimed a couple spots in the top spots for the NCAA and has made her name known in the softball world.
